Meaning & Purpose : In this section, I will show the importance of the renaming the folder and others settings of premiere pro which can affect the outcome of the quality.
The screenshots below are the shot list for my filming process of my final movie project.
Once I had finished the all the filming by following the shot list. I had copy all the footage from the camera to my laptop. The screenshots below shows the direct copy of the original folder from camera, every videos I took were saved inside. The name of each content is just number and the file format. It will be very messy for me when I get to the editing stage. I have to open the content every time to check what is it. Therefore renaming is a very important stages before editing begin. Although it takes sometime to rename every videos / photo, it will definitely save lots of time afterwards.
I had selected the video I think is well quality, I had saved all those great quality video into a folder " shortlist". I had then spend some time to rename all the video. The name of the video will refer to what the actor is doing, where I took the video and different camera angle. Now all the video had been renamed, they are all neat and tidy. It will also easier for me to find the footages in the future, as this "Short List" folder will be import into premiere pro. Placing all the pre-edit material in the same folder not only helps to identify which footages are been well taken, it also saves lots of time not importing each individual video.
Once I opened Premiere Pro, there are serval setting that has to be changed. The Capture Format has to be HDV (High Definition Video) as all of my filming are film with HD camera. The Location has to be the renamed folder - "Short List". The Name of the project has changed to the title of the movie.
Finally set the output of the movie, I had chosen HDV 1080p24. Its' 1080p full HD is widely been used in industry in both movie and tv.
The aspect ration will be set into 16:9, it is a standard international board cast ratio on HDTV. The advertisement will be board cast on the television of other media. It is important the aspect ratio is widely acceptable as the movie will be upload into streaming platform.
To gives out the best quality of the film, the video will be film through camera in 1080p and exported the final product in 1080p as well. The 1080p is the standard quality of modern high definition television. The pixel ratio in the film must be 1920 x 1080 to meet the 1080p quality.
